Why Intelligence Builders
Intelligence Builders is led by Dale Musser, who brings over 35 years of experience spanning software engineering, education, and research. With a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from The Ohio State University and deep expertise in computer science, Dale has spent his career building at the intersection of technology and learning.
At the University of Missouri, Dale served as Director and faculty in the Information Technology Program within the Department of Computer Science, where he taught software engineering, database systems, web application development, and mobile app design. He grew the program from 70 to 320 students and was recognized with the Computer Science Department Faculty Award eight times. Prior to that, he was faculty in the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies in the College of Education. Dale also began his career as a secondary school teacher in mathematics and physics. He now dedicates his full focus to Intelligence Builders.
Dale's industry experience includes roles at IBM, where he co-developed multimedia and digital video systems for education, and at SEGA of America, where he built programming tools for the SEGA CD platform. He has served as a principal investigator on millions of dollars in research funding from the NSF, U.S. Department of Education, and industry partners.
Dale also brings hands-on experience with drones and robotics, including work with the Boston Dynamics Spot platform. This breadth of experience across hardware and software reflects the same approach Intelligence Builders takes with every project: understanding systems end to end.
His current work focuses on AI and machine learning applied to educational data, building platforms that turn gameplay telemetry into actionable insights for teachers and researchers. This combination of hands-on engineering skill, academic rigor, and real-world product experience is what makes Intelligence Builders uniquely positioned to deliver solutions for education, research, and AI.
